Gutridge makes Dynamos return

29 year old Brad Gutridge has returned to the Invicta Dynamos for a third consecutive season.

The grafter will be looking to add to the 90 appearances he has already made in a Mos jersey in 2016/17.

After icing for the Invicta Mustangs in the NIHL South Division 2, Brad Gutridge earned a full time roster spot with the Dynamos in 2014/15 after impressing Head Coach Kevin Parrish when called upon to cover injuries.

Gutridge brought a work rate and energy level to the ice that saw his new Coach want to retain his services and, having initially stepped up to provide temporary cover, the skater appeared 42 times for the Mos and was a part of the squad that lifted the NIHL Southern Cup in April 2015.

Last season Brad Gutridge retained his roster spot and enjoyed perhaps his best year in hockey to date – the physical forward missing just two of the team’s 50 games and looking assured in the NIHL’s top tier. Known more for his work rate, hard hitting and willingness to drop the gloves, Gutridge also got himself on the scoresheet – his first ever strike for the Mos the highlight of the team’s 7-3 win against Bracknell Hornets in early January.

He would finish the season having notched another and played a role in three more and he will now return for 2016/17 looking to continue his year-on-year improvement in a Dynamos jersey.

Speaking on the return of Brad Gutridge Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “Brad isn’t the sort of player that takes all the headlines but he’s the sort of player every team needs.”

“He works tirelessly every shift, he looks to sap the energy from the opponent, he will drop the gloves and stick up for his teammates and he is a positive player in the changing room.”

“Last season he showed another dimension to his game with a couple of goals and a number of assists and I think that will give him new found confidence going into the 2016/17 campaign.”

“Brad is a hard working guy, committed to this team and I’m very glad we’ll be able to call upon him again when the season gets underway”.

Brad Gutridge will continue to wear the number 46 jersey and his return takes the roster to 14 with news of further signings to follow over the next few weeks.
