An unbeaten 61 from Kent’s Lydia Greenway helped England women to an 84 run victory over the West Indies at Hove on Saturday.
In the fourth match of the NatWest Women’s International T20 Series at the PROBIZ ground, England posted 154-3 from their 20 overs, an innings that saw Sarah Taylor and Lydia Greenway put on 98 off 69 balls.
Taylor became the second woman in international T20 history to pass the 1000 run mark, whilst Greenway picked up her first T20 international half-century on the way to 61 not-out.
In reply West Indies were restricted to 70-8. Danielle Hazell was pick of the England bowlers taking new best figures of 4-12.
England have now extended their unbeaten run in T20 format to 21 matches and will play the final match of the NatWest Women’s International T20 Series at Arundel Castle Cricket Club tomorrow at 2pm.
Player of the match Lydia Greenway said: “It’s been another great team performance today. Charlotte and Laura got us off to a good start and everyone coming in knew what they had to do.
“I was really pleased to contribute and to play positively today, it was good to get out there and get some runs under my belt. I always enjoy batting with Sarah Taylor and today we rotated the strike well.
“We were comfortable with the target we set and our bowlers once again put in an excellent performance, all executing their plans to restrict the West Indies.
“We’re really pleased with our performance and we’ll be making sure we continue to the same standard as we head into the final match of the series at Arundel tomorrow.”
