Kent Speedway have announced a ‘first’ for Central Park with the visit next month of a Young Denmark side.
The tourists from the Scandinavian hot-bed of the sport who’ve produced no fewer than five individual world champions over the years (winning a remarkable 14 titles between them) will be visiting the Sittingbourne Greyhound Stadium home of the Kent SLYDE Kings on Monday July 13th.
The Laurels individual meeting previously scheduled for that date will now be held on Monday August 14th.
The news that a first truly international event is to be hosted by Kent Speedway club has been warmly welcomed by co-promoter and club chairman, Roger Cearns:
“I am delighted that the Danish team manager wished to bring his young riders to our stadium.”
“When we entered the world of Speedway, it was always my wish to have the international flavour here at Central Park.”
“This is the first step in that direction and I am looking forward to July 13th”.
