Kent Cricket have announced the signing of Surrey Women’s captain for 2024, Amy Gordon, pending ECB approval.
The batting all-rounder joins Kent Women’s first League Two squad in the 2025 season and brings with her a wealth of experience after playing in the Kia Super League in 2019, being a part of Welsh Fire’s squad in The Hundred, and she has also featured for South East Stars in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint trophy.
The 23-year-old progressed through the Surrey Talent Pathway, making her senior T20 debut against Worcestershire in 2016, before making her List A debut against the same opponent in the 2017 Royal London Women’s One Day Cup.
She went on to make 88 appearances for the Three Feathers over an eight-year period, 19 as Captain including the Oldest Rivalry T20 at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence under lights in August 2024, before making the decision to join Kent ahead of the introduction of the new two-league system in women’s domestic cricket.
On committing to Kent for 2025, Gordon said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Kent Women, the most successful women’s county side in history.
“I’ve always heard great things about the team and the culture at Kent, who have always put a lot of work into their female pathway and their first-team squad.
“I’m excited to put a Kent shirt on for the first time and get going as one of ‘the Horses’”.
Kent’s Head of Women’s Cricket, Lucy Arman, said: “We’re thrilled that a player of Amy’s talent and experience has decided to play for Kent this coming season.
“She will immediately be a leading player for us as we look to compete in League Two this year, and we will definitely look to draw on her experience in helping future generations of Kent Women players reach their potential.”
