Stevenage have signed striker Matt Godden from Ebbsfleet United for an undisclosed fee.
Godden, 24, scored 30 goals for National League South side Ebbsfleet last season following his move from Scunthorpe in July 2014.
“I’m delighted to get it over the line, it’s been going on a while now,” Godden told Stevenage’s official website.
“Most important is I’m back in the Football League, which I think is where I’m at at this stage of my career.”
Godden made only 21 appearances in five years at Scunthorpe, but his goals haul for Ebbsfleet last season included three hat-tricks and he is confident of making the step back up.
“I dropped down initially from Scunthorpe to Ebbsfleet to rejuvenate myself really,” he added. “I wanted to take the drop down to get regular football.
“The main aim was to bounce back up again and make a name for myself in the Football League and I thank (manager) Darren (Sarll) and Stevenage for giving me the opportunity.”
