Weather permitting Glebe will be hosting Croydon Athletic in the SCEFL Premier Division on Tuesday night at Foxbury Avenue, looking to rediscover winning ways after two league defeats, while their visitors are aiming for their first win in five.
Glebe weren’t able to play on Saturday to due the weather conditions, but Athletic travelled to Faversham where they faced Canterbury City drawing 1-1.
Umara Alpha put The Rams in front before City equalised in the second half. The point left Kevin Rayner’s side in fifteenth with 24 points from 22 matches. While The Foxes are one place higher on 24 points from 18 league games.
Last time out in the SCEFL Glebe lost 2-0 at Erith Town, but the following Tuesday they did win 4-2 on penalties in the League Cup away at Punjab Utd after a 1-1 draw, the Glebe goal coming early on from Daniel McCarthy.
The teams haven’t met yet this season, but last time they did play it ended in a 4-0 victory for Glebe towards the end of last season completing their double over Athletic.
Both teams will be keen to maintain a gap between themselves and the bottom two, while a decent run could put them both up into the top half of the table going into the final third of the season.
The club have been working hard to get the game on, so hopefully they will be rewarded with a good crowd for this one following unprecedented rain fall. Kick off is 7.45pm.
