Games are coming thick and fast for Glebe who host Holmesdale on Tuesday at Foxbury.
Three consecutive draws prior to their four-nil victory over Tunbridge Wells have dented their promotion hopes, but they will continue to try and pick up every point possible so that should Chatham Town or Sheppey United have a similar blip, they will be ready to pounce.
On Saturday, they took a break from league action when they visited Crowborough Athletic in the league’s Challenge Cup semi-final first leg. Lucas Morrain gave the hosts an early lead which they held until three minutes from time. However, Jamie Philpot ensured that the second leg would start with the clubs on level pegging when he notched his forty-fourth goal of the season.
Meanwhile, Holmesdale are having a solid season in mid-table in the league, but have lost their last two matches. On Saturday they lost at home to Hollands and Blair despite taking an early lead. Rolex Bulti scored for Lee Roots’ team in the tenth minute, but Ben Brown levelled eleven minutes later. Brown’s winner came eleven minutes into the second half.
Surprisingly, at this stage of the season, the teams are yet to meet this with the return fixture scheduled for Oakley Road on 9th April.
