Floodlight football takes place in Chislehurst in the London Senior Cup this evening when Glebe host Hanwell Town.
After four successive Southern Counties East Football League and F.A. Vase defeats in the first half of September, the Foxes have won three league games on the spin to move them to within one point of the play-offs.
On Saturday they defeated Lordswood three-one. Paul Lee gave Glebe a half time lead however Jake Embery levelled eight minutes after the break. Alfie Kitt restored the hosts’ lead and Jamie Philpot’s fourth goal in three games ensured the Foxes’ victory.
Their visitors on Wednesday, Hanwell Town, will provide a tough challenge as they ply their trade in the Southern League Premier South, two levels higher than the Foxes.
They were in F.A. Trophy action on Saturday against Berkhamsted in an eventful match. Hanwell went ahead in the eleventh minute through Jordan Edwards’ tenth goal of the season.
Berkhamsted levelled on the hour mark and held on before the match went to penalties, despite having had three players sent off. Hanwell won the shoot-out to progress.
Although they are in a comfortable mid-table position, they are yet to win away in the league or any knockout competition.
