There will be play-off football under the floodlights at Foxbury on Tuesday night when Glebe host Erith Town in a Southern Counties East Football League eliminator match.
Both teams come into the game on the back of victories and will be wanting to use the momentum in a fixture from which it is difficult to pick a winner.
On Saturday the Foxes hosted Rusthall and ran out two-nil winners. Jamie Philpot put the Foxes ahead with his thirtieth league and cup goal of the season.
They then created chance after chance but found Rusthall goalkeeper Serine Sanneh in inspired form and it took a penalty by Ali Fofanah to give them breathing space. Further heroics by Sanneh kept the Rustics in the game but they could not conjure up a goal and Glebe ran out comfortable victors.
Meanwhile, Erith Town had no game as their season had finished two days earlier. Having played three games in six days they would have appreciated the rest.
They had a light training session on Saturday morning before going out for a bonding lunch. They looked leggy in their final game and had to work hard to beat Snodland Town. Harry Taylor scored the only goal, just after the half hour mark, when intercepting a sloppy pass out and firing home.
In each of the matches between Glebe and Erith Town this season, the spoils have been shared. When they met at Foxbury in August, Glebe went in at the break two up through goals by Philpot and Malachi Morris. However, Ollie Milton, who had spent the previous season at Foxbury with Stansfeld, came on as a substitute and scored a brace.
When they met in the return match there were no goals in the first half. Seven minutes after the break, the Foxes went ahead through Reece Barrett. They held that lead until the final minute when the never-say-die Dockers equalised through Jake Lovell.
At home, in all competitions, Glebe have won twelve, drew six and lost two whilst on the road Erith have won eleven, drawn five and lost seven. At the end of the season there was just three points between the teams and another tight encounter is likely.
