Victory for Glebe ensured them a third place finish in the Southern Counties East Football League, but they were made to fight all the way by lowly K Sports.
Despite not having won a league or cup match since mid-January the visitors gave as good as they got and might consider themselves unlucky to come away from the match empty handed.
Livewire Ziyad Ghali had a shot deflected wide for the Paperboys in the opening exchanges then Herve Mbongue collected a half cleared corner but his shot was saved by seventeen year old Glebe goalkeeper Reggie Rose.
Ghali continued to cause problems for the Foxes, but it was they who drew first blood. Sol Baugh delivered their first corner of the match and Kalvin Morath-Gibbs got up high to power home his header.
Baugh then sent Charlie Penny away, but Charlie Walker was out smartly to smother at his feet.
Chances were at a premium for the rest of the first although more trickery by Ghali gave him another opportunity to shoot but his effort went wide of the far post.
After the half time interval Harvey Killick shot wide of Glebe’s near post before Rose made an excellent save from Ghali.
Ainsley Everett shot wide from distance for the Foxes before Baugh had a shot deflected wide. Dami Olorunnisomo went on a thrilling run but could not pick out Jamie Philpot with his cut-back.
Philpot thought that he had scored his forty-sixth goal soon after when going clear through and finishing well, only for his joy to be cut short by an offside flag.
Philpot then shot well over before the visitors caused further problems. Mbongue and Killick combined well to create an opportunity for Luke Frost, but he had to stretch to reach it and could only prod into the grateful hands of Rose.
Mbongue found Ghali but his shot was deflected over before Kevin Dance fired wildly over.
In the final minute, Philpot made sure of the three points when he found space in the corner of the penalty area. He measured it up before giving Walker no chance with a shot that swerved and dipped into the far corner.
