Despite still being without a first team manager, it would seem that the departures from Gillingham have begun with two members of the first team squad and a coach announcing through social media that they wont be at the club by the time Chairman Paul Scally announces Steve Lovell’s official full time successor.
First to post was full back Luke O’Neill. “Would just like to say I’ve had a great two seasons but a new challenge now awaits me. Thanks to all you gillingham fans that made me feel welcome. Made some great friends and had some great times. Wish Gillingham football club all the best in the future. @TheGillsFC”
O’Neill was followed by midfielder Billy Bingham,” Would just like to say thanks to @TheGillsFC I’ve had a tough but enjoyable 2 years. The fans have been great with me and something I will not forget. Made some great friends and wish everyone the best next season.”
And the third to post was coach Ian Cox who said, “Almost 10 years via 2 stints with Gillingham fc my love affair with the club has come to a sad end. Through the challenges & the experiences I thank the supporters, the players & staff who I have worked with in different roles.”
