Gillingham will begin the 2016/17 League One season with a trip to Southend United.
Justin Edinburgh’s side will make the short trip across the river into Essex for the season opener on Saturday 6th August.
They’ll then entertain Bury at Priestfield on Saturday 13th August with other notable dates seeing The Gills head to Peterborough United on Boxing Day with a trip to rivals Millwall to follow on New Year’s Eve.
Gillingham will end their campaign with a visit to Northampton Town on Sunday 30th April.
Other notable dates for the diary see local rivals Charlton Athletic come to Priestfield on Saturday 22nd October with the return tie at The Valley on Monday 17th April.
One tie that fans will be looking forward to is the visit of Swindon Town to Priestfield and that will be on Tuesday 16th August with the away game at The County Ground on Tuesday 28th October.
Gillingham have also been drawn away to Southend United in the First Round of the EFL Cup. just days after the two teams meet in the league.
