Gillingham’s game with Southend United scheduled for Valentines night has been brought forward 24 hours to be shown on TV.

The game will now be played on Monday 13th February with kick off at 7:45pm at Priestfield as it has been selected as the featured Monday Night Football game to be shown by Sky television.

The last time Gillingham were featured on Sky was the away tie at Yeovil Town back in 2007, with the last time The Gills were live on TV being the FA Cup tie against Aston Villa back in January 2009 which was shown by ITV.

Being on Sky should guarantee Gillingham a reasonable financial windfall and will no doubt be welcomed by boss Andy Hessenthaler with the funds possibly being used to bolster his squad.
