Neil Harris’ transfer dealings for Gillingham continued on Tuesday with the signing of defender Shadrach Ogie.
The 21 year old central defender signs from Leyton Orient and represented the Republic of Ireland at under 19 level and played nearly sixty times for last season’s League Two Champions in total featuring fifteen times during their Championship season.
He’s known to some Kent football followers after a spell on loan at Crabble with Dover Athletic and has also had loan spells with Bishop’s Stortford and Aldershot Town.
His first club was Pike Rovers in the Republic and he went on to join Hornchurch.
Speaking to the club’s website, boss Neil Harris said, “He’s competitive, he’s quick, aggressive, left footed. He complements our defensive players really well, he has a good passing range, so we are really pleased.
“We have had to be patient, he is ready to go and will be in the matchday squad on Saturday. We look forward to working with him.”
