Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler will be forced into making changes yet again for this weekend’s trip to Aldershot.
With skipper Andy Frampton missing the game through suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season at
Bournemouth in the FA Cup last weekend, in could come either Simon King or Garry Richards, although both only resumed training on Thursday after overcoming ankle and hamstring injuries respectively.
Also set for a change is the goalkeeping position with Ross Flitney likely to reclaim the number one spot after missing the Cup draw with a knee injury.
The former Dover Athletic shot-stopper has had an injection at the start of the week and could dispose Paulo Gazzaniga between the sticks.
With strikers Frank Nouble and Jo Juffour both available after missing the Bournemouth game as their parent clubs didn’t want them to become cup-tied, they should slot straight back into the starting line up.
Ordanarily, they would replace Chris Whelpdale and Luke Rooney in the side, however Danny Kedwell is struggling with a toe injury and one of those could earn a reprieve and stay in the starting eleven.
Jack Payne should be rewarded for his fine performance against Bournemouth by retaining his place in the team alongside Charlie Lee and Danny Jackman in the midfield.
With the play-off positions back within sight, The Gills will be keen to claim all three points in what could turn out to be Nouble’s last game for the club with his loan spell set to end this weekend.
The Gills could line up like this:
Flitney, Fish, Lawrence, King, Martin, Whelpdale, Lee, J Payne, Jackman, Nouble, Kuffour.
Subs: Gazzaniga, Richards, Montrose, Rooney, S Payne.
