Subject to EFL board approval, Gillingham’s Checkatrade Trophy fixture against Tottenham Hotspur U21 will be played at the home of Charlton Athletic.

The game is scheduled to take place at The Valley on Tuesday October 9th with kick off at 7:45pm.

Due to the work being carried out on the pitch at Priestfield, and no other date available, the match has to be played at another ground and The Gills have expressed their gratitude to Charlton Athletic for agreeing to host the game.

With work having started on relaying the surface at Priestfield on Monday, the League One fixture with Blackpool has also been moved, to the evening of November 6th.

A central location between Gillingham and Tottenham Hotspur was sought after it became apparent the game couldn’t be held in Medway on the original planned date of 9th October.

Ticket details for the game at The Valley will be released in due course.
