Gillingham Football Club seem finally set to appoint their new manager at the early part of next week.
Almost two months after former boss Andy Hessenthaler was relieved of his duties, Chairman Paul Scally seems to set to reveal who will be the new man to take over at Priestfield.
Various names still remain in the frame, with various bookmakers making former Southend United manager Steve Tilson their firm favourite with some sources suggesting he will take over at Gillingham along with Scott Lindsey.
The delay on the announcement has been partly due to the fact the club are defending themselves against a race discrimination claim by former striker Mark McCammon.
Whoever comes into the Gillingham hotseat, they will have just a few days to prepare for pre-season with the players reporting back for pre-season training on Thursday 5th July.
The club will then embark on a week long trip to France with a number of pre-season friendlies scheduled before the first game of the new season against Bristol City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday 14th August.
