Gillingham fans will hope to be in attendance for their opening League One fixture of the 2021/22 season after the fixtures were announced.

Steve Evans’ side will face Lincoln City at Priestfield on the opening day of the season.

Fans will be hoping they will be there to see The Gills face The Imps for that clash with a reduced capacity expected due to Covid restrictions, however that may well be lifted after July 19th.

That game on Saturday 7th August is followed by a trip to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday 14th. The Gills are on the road again for their third League One game of the season – this time off to AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday 17th August.

Local rivals Charlton Athletic come to Priestfield for the first meeting between the two sides for the season on Saturday 4th September with the return fixture at The Valley on Wednesday 29th December.

Christmas sees Gillingham host Ipswich Town at Priestfield on Boxing Day with a trip to Milton Keynes Dons awaiting Steve Evans’ side on New Year’s Day.

Gillingham’s final two League One fixtures of the season sees them visit Portsmouth on Saturday 23rd April before returning to Priestfield to face Rotherham United a week later.
