Gillingham Football Club will play away to Bristol City in the First Round of the Capital One Cup.
The newly named Capital One Cup used to be called the Carling Cup and the draw gives Gillingham their first competitive fixture of the season.
The game is scheduled to be played in the week commencing Monday 13th August with a confirmed date yet to be set for the tie at Ashton Gate.
Gillingham and Bristol City last met in 2006/07 when they played three games against each other. City won the league tie at Ashton Gate 3-1, a couple of weeks later they beat The Gills 4-3 in the Second Round of the FA Cup, but Gillingham were victorious when the two sides met in the league at Priestfield, winning 1-0.
The Gills will find out their League Two fixtures when they are announced at 9am on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Charlton were drawn at home to Leyton Orient with the opening games of the competition scheduled to be played on 14 and 15 August.
However, policing restrictions during the Olympics and Paralympics could complicate the issue. But for these events the game would be staged at The Valley on 14 August with a 7.45pm kick-off. All concerned will be hoping the game can still go ahead on this date.
