Gillingham Ladies Football Club have announced they are on the lookout for a new reserve team manager.
The Gills Ladies are the most successful female football club in Kent, a major objective of the club now is to have one of the most successful youth programmes in Kent by bringing through young hungry and ambitious players from the Centre of Excellence & local youth sides, into the Reserve/Development Team and on into The First team.
The Club are looking for a Reserve/Development Team Manager to coach the team through the week and to manage them at all Reserve team matches (which are usually on Sundays from August to May). It is anticipated that they will play in the FA Southern Reserve League to commence Sep 2013. This position reports into the Gillingham Ladies First Team Manager.
The team will train twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings.
The person appointed will be involved in the management of and continuous assessment of Reserve/Development Team Players whilst addressing players’ weaknesses/needs in collaboration with the First team Manager.
The successful applicant will hold appraisal meetings (also providing written evaluations) with players throughout the year whilst seeking advice from First team Manager; advise on retention of players in discussion with the First team Manager and other relevant staff; plan, prepare and record individual coaching sessions for every Reserve team training session; co-ordinate a pre-season programme with the First team Manager to maximise preparation for the forthcoming season for all Reserve/Development Team Players.
You will liaise with the First team Manager to ensure a full and appropriate Strength and Conditioning Programme is in place; to work closely with the physiotherapy/fitness staff to maximize player’s fitness and availability for matches; to consistently explore avenues for educational workshops on becoming Elite Athletes e.g. nutrition, hydration, psychology, lifestyle and be familiar with the Safeguarding Children requirements as outlined in the Safeguarding Children Policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
The club are also looking for coaches to assist this new appointment
To be considered for this opportunity you should have:
• A UEFA ‘B’ License minimum (or Level 2 working towards UEFA B)
• A full UK Driving License
• A category D1 on their driving license or a qualification that permits the driving of minibuses is preferred
• Worked with female players is preferred
• A dynamic, confident communicator whilst able to adapt style and approach as and when required; able to engage with businesses, coaches and players
• Attention to detail and excellent organization skills are required along with a conscientious approach to all areas of work
• Flexible approach to work and a proven commitment to teamwork
• Full understanding of successful practice and operations of Gillingham Ladies FC
• Knowledge of safeguarding children and/or vulnerable groups
• Knowledge of all key safeguarding legislation
• The successful applicant will be required to undergo a satisfactory enhanced CRB check.
