Gills all set for Brackley test
Gills all set for Brackley test
After a terrific win at Bramall Lane in front of 16,500 in the Steel City of Sheffield, next up for the Gills is the relative peace and quiet of Brackley – but what do we know about Brackley?Brackley Town

It is about 19 miles from Oxford and 22 miles from Northampton, situated on the southern tip of Northamptonshire.

Historically a market town based on the wool and lace trade, it was built on the intersecting trade routes between London and Birmingham, and between Cambridge and Oxford.

Brackley has connections with Formula 1 as it is close to Silverstone and is the home to the Mercedes AMG team.

The ground itself is called St James’ Park – yes another one – and by the end of Monday evening, courtesy of BT Sports, all Gills fans and followers obviously hope that it will be a ground that is just a step on the Road to Wembley – well Macclesfield at least on December 7th!

And a reminder that if you’re not one of those with a match ticket or haven’t got BT Sports, KSN have backed the evening’s entertainment at the Star Meadow Sports Club – the home of Hollands and Blair FC – in Darland Avenue in Gillingham.

Doors open at 6:30pm with kick off due at 7:45pm.

We have also been contacted by the owners of the 44Two club in Featherby Road, Gillingham (namely Nicky Southall and Andy Hessenthaler) and they too will be showing the game on their big screens.

And it is hoped that either Nicky or Andy or possibly both will be in attendance for the game…

KSN are delighted to team up with two Gills legends for coverage of what will be a famous night for the football club – with the first appearance on a new TV Channel – as well as backing two of Gillingham’s finest sports clubs that are open to the public seven days a week.
