Lee Martin serves the final game of his four-match ban when Gillingham host Rotherham United in League One on Tuesday night.
Martin saw red in the Gills’ game against Southend United on Easter Monday. Defender Alex Lacey is expected to be fit after a knock ruled him out of the 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic on Saturday, while Rhys Murphy and Franck Moussa will be assessed as they come back from injuries.
Billy Bingham is set to miss the remainder of the season after picking up a thigh strain.
Joe Newell should come back into contention for Rotherham. The influential midfielder missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Wigan with a quad injury but has recovered for the trip to Kent.
Richie Towell came off at the DW Stadium with a tight back and will be monitored, with boss Paul Warne unlikely to risk the Irishman if there is any danger of him aggravating the injury. Joe Mattock (hamstring) will be given more time to recover, while Darren Potter and Jamie Proctor are both out.
Gillingham have lost three of their last four League One matches against Rotherham (W1), however that win did come in the reverse fixture earlier this season as the Gills picked up a 3-1 away victory at the New York Stadium.
The Millers themselves have won just one of their last 13 trips to Gillingham in the EFL (D3 L9), however that single victory did come in their most recent league visit to the Priestfield Stadium back in April 2014 (4-3).
Despite being on a six-game winless run in the league (D3 L3), Gillingham have lost just one of their last 12 matches on home soil (W3 D8).
Rotherham have won just one of their last five away matches (D1 L3), having won five of their previous six prior to this run (D1).
