Gillingham v Bolton Wanderers preview

Gillingham will be without midfielder Josh Wright through suspension for the visit of Bolton Wanderers tonight.

Wright netted a hat-trick of second-half penalties in just nine minutes as the Gills fought back to beat promotion-chasing Scunthorpe United at Priestfield on Saturday, but picked up his 10th yellow card during the goal celebrations.

Defender Ryan Jackson will be assessed on a groin problem and midfielder Scott Wagstaff has been out with a knee injury. Meanwhile, Chris Herd limped off on Saturday with a knee injury and is unlikely to feature.

Forward Rory Donnelly (ankle) and defender Bradley Garmston (hamstring) continue their recoveries, while Aaron Morris (knee) remains a long-term absentee.

Wright and Herd’s absence will therefore leave two places in the starting line up with Jake Hessenthaler just one of those pushing for a place in Ady Pennock’s eleven this evening.

Bolton Wanderers have Chris Long available again following a two-game ban. The on-loan Burnley forward has been absent since being dismissed against Bristol Rovers last month.

Manager Phil Parkinson has reported no new injury issues from the weekend’s victory over Fleetwood, when Darren Pratley made his return from a broken leg and Jem Karacan came off the bench for his debut.

Mark Davies (knee) will not play again this season.
