Gillingham have made their third new signing of the summer by bringing in midfielder Jack Nolan from Accrington Stanley.
The 23 year old becomes the latest new recruit at Priestfield under new manager Mark Bonner as The Gills look to build a squad capable of promotion from League Two.
Nolan joins The Gills for an undisclosed fee having arrived at the Wham Stadium on Thursday 5th August 2021, then made his debut in the Carabao Cup nineteen days later – grabbing his first goal against Leicester City U21s in the EFL Trophy.
He played a total of 80 times for the Reds, with the winger scoring 17 more goals and providing 17 assists.
Jack said: “I’d just like to say a massive thank you to everyone associated with Accrington Stanley for the last three years, by far the most I have enjoyed my football in my career so far!
“From players past and present, staff both on the pitch and off it, and to Andy Holt and the rest of the Board, I thank you all for making my time at the club one to remember.
“To the fans and the community of Accrington, I thank you all for treating myself and my family as one of your own from the very first day and is something we are all grateful for.
“I’ve met people at the club and in the area that will remain friends for life. I wish John, Ged, and all the lads the very best for the new season ahead. I will be back at Accrington soon, as a fan, that’s for sure.”
John Doolan added: “We want to thank Jack for all his time, his effort, and everything he’s done for the club.
“He had an unbelievable season last year and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Nolan joins Armani Little and Elliott Nevitt at Priestfield with manager Mark Bonner still looking at potential new recruits ahead of the new League Two season.
On the international stage, Nolan was capped four times by England Under 17s, scoring once, against Germany.
On signing his contract, Jack said: “I am absolutely delighted and am looking forward now to the start of pre-season.
“When I spoke to the Manager I felt wanted and once I’d had the conversation my mind was made up really. I will give the best for Gillingham, and my teammates.”
Manager Mark Bonner added: “Jack joins following an excellent season and at an age and stage of his career where he has accumulated good experience but, vitally, has lots more to come. It’s his potential that excites me and gives us all a challenge to get the best out of him.
“He’s determined to continue performing at a high level and will add quality to us in a wide area. Jack has outstanding delivery from crosses and set plays, is coming off the back of a season full of goals and assists, and will fit well in to our team.”
