Gillingham Ladies Senior Team will no longer be part of Gillingham Football Club it was announced yesterday evening but the club will continue.
The club will once again become a separate entity and remain in the FA Women’s National League – Southern Premier Division. Josh Oatham who is the manager of the side for this season has finalised a deal with the football club to take the team on as a separate team once more, and with that it will see a slight change to the teams name.

Announcing that he would take the club over Oatham said: “Due to the current economic uncertainty, it was vital for the long-term set up of the Ladies team that we were able to take this opportunity to continue the team’s current status.
“This now allows us to commit resources to the team that will help secure the club’s position in the `FA Women’s National League – Southern Premier Division’. Oatham also specified that
“This is a hugely exciting time for everybody involved with the Ladies setup and I believe the club is in safe hands with our strategy to ensure a competitive sustainable future.”
The ladies’ team are currently liaising with the league with regards to a name change, with the required documentation submitted with the new set up being named “Gillingham Women’s Football Club”.
