Gillingham’s League One game against Lincoln City scheduled for Tuesday night has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
After Saturday’s 1-0 win at Accrington Stanley, Steve Evans’ side were looking forward to taking on the league leaders, but heavy rain in the Lincolnshire area has put paid to the game and it will now need to be rearranged.
The postponement will come as a real blow to many Gills fans who were hoping to see their side back in action after the weekend’s superb victory.
With the fixture calendar already looking full for The Gills, a new date for the game will take some squeezing into the schedule.
Ironically, Gillingham have a free Tuesday night on February 9th, just three days after they face Lincoln City at home.
Steve Evans will now have to prepare his side for Saturday’s home League One clash against Rochdale at Priestfield.
