Kent Cricket have announced the signing of Somerset paceman Nathan Gilchrist on loan for the remainder of the 2020 season, with an agreement in place to join the county on a long contract from 1st November.
The 20-year-old right-armer has yet to make his first class debut but took four wickets in one innings against Gloucestershire and finished the match with figures of 5/76 in the recent pre-season friendly.
Kent’s Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, said: “We’re really pleased that Nathan has agreed to join us at Kent. He is an exciting prospect who we are confident will become a significant cricketer for the county.
“He is a talented young bowler who can bowl some quick spells and we look forward to giving him plenty of opportunity and encouragement to help develop his undoubted potential.”
