Bromley make the long trip up to the North East to face Gateshead for their final away game of their debut National League season on Saturday looking to finish a decent campaign on the road with a good result.
Bromley go in to the match with several players missing through injury and suspension, manager Neil Smith has already confirmed that Academy products Jordan Higgs and Tom O’Connor will start the game in midfield following injury to Lee Minshull and Ali Fuseini’s red card in the disappointing 2-0 defeat to Torquay last Saturday.
Gateshead also have an injury crisis of their own with up to seven players out and are expected to give some youngsters a chance also. ‘The Heed’ have struggled at home this term and owe their tenth place in the table to a strong away record. They lost 3-2 to Braintree in their last game at the arena.
The game at Hayes Lane in September saw Bromley strike three late goals to secure a 3-0 win and effectively kick start their season, with Moses Emmanuel scoring twice after being moved up front. The Ravens top scorer would love to rediscover that form again, but will probably have to play out wide again due to the number of players unavailable.
With Bromley fans travelling up to the game by plane, train and coach there should be a good Ravens contingent there to cheer on the young side who will be keen to make a claim to starting next season.
