All eyes on the FA Vase for Nicky Southall’s men who travel to Margate on Saturday as they face a step 6 Canterbury City side and aim to get back to winning ways following a midweek defeat away to Larkfield & New Hythe.
The Lords conceded a late goal in the Kent Senior Trophy on Tuesday night away at Larkfield which resulted in a swift exit from the competition. Bryan Zepo found the winner for the hosts in the 90th minute of the game after the Lords failed to clear their lines.
Despite this Lordswood manager Nicky Southall said after the game that ‘it was a good opportunity to get some minutes in the legs as well as give players rest’, this follows the ten changes which he made for the fixture. This also meant that Tim Marapara and Ryan Lovejoy (who were both called up from the u23’s) got their first minutes in a competitive game for the Lords.
Luke Carey and Bleu Landau made their first starts since returning from injury, Brad Jeffrey made a return to the squad as well as Leighton Fanshawe. Elliott Duncan, Harry Fleming, Rob Myles, George Miles also played 90 minutes.
The Lords now look to get back to winning ways and gain some momentum following recent results, a win over Canterbury City would not only secure their place in the next round of the vase but also allow them to take some momentum to Kennington on Tuesday 24th.
