Thirty year old forward Daniel Fudger will return to the Invicta Dynamos when the puck drops in September.
The battling skater will pen a contract in Gillingham ready to add to the 176 appearances, 41 goals and 58 assists he already has in Kent.
Daniel Fudger first iced for the Dynamos as early as 1998/99 but eventually became a regular for the side in 2002 before moving on to the nearby Haringey Greyhounds three years later.
A brief spell with the Romford Spitfires was followed by a year out of the game before the hardworking forward finally found his way back to Gillingham – icing in the NIHL South Division 2 with the Mustangs between 2008 and 2010.
His excellent displays for the second tier outfit would not go unnoticed and, a third of the way through the 2010/11 campaign, Fudger was once again invited to ice in the top tier of the NIHL with the Dynamos after a five and a half year absence.
Back working under the instruction of Head Coach Kevin Parrish, Daniel Fudger became a key figure for the Dynamos over the next two seasons – his 14 point haul in 23 2010/11 outings, coupled with his phenomenal work rate, earning him another contract for 2011/12.
This time he would ice 43 times for the club whilst appearing on various lines throughout the season and chipping in with 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points across all competitions.
In 2012/13 he then continued his stint with the Dynamos but, after just 15 more appearances, he would move back to the Mustangs in the NIHL South Division 2 citing work commitments as the reason behind the switch.
Now though the dogged skater will don the Dynamos jersey once again as he becomes the club’s seventh summer signing behind Chris Douglas, Ryan Giles, Arran Strawson, Shaun Wild, Juraj Huska and Alan Lack.
Speaking on the return of forward Daniel Fudger, Head Coach Kevin Parrish revealed that he saw the grit and determination of the skater being a valuable asset for 2013/14 and that he thought the attacker added a different dimension to the Dynamos attack.
Parrish said, “Daniel is battler from the moment his skates tough the ice to the moment he’s back on the bench. He will fight for every loose puck, work hard on the fore-check and help by not only wearing down the opposition but by creating those chances out of nothing with his constantly hassling and harrying.”
“On top of that he knows where the net is and is more than capable of amassing a healthy tally of goals and assists to help us out up front”.
The Dynamos supremo then commented on Fudger’s commitment ahead of the new campaign when he said, “It’s no secret that Daniel wanted more ice time in recent seasons but he knows that, like everyone else, he is fighting for his spot in 2013/14.”
“However, we all also know that if, he continues to put in the work, he is more than capable of being an important player for us come the puck drop in September and I have no doubt that he will be”.
Daniel Fudger returns to the Dynamos looking to take his total points’ tally at the club into three digits having been halted at 99 up until now. The forward will once again don the number 74 jersey from September.
