Former Gillingham defender Matt Fry has joined Herne Bay for the 2018/19 season, bringing a wealth of experience to the Bay backline.
Fry has played for a number of professional clubs before he was advised to retire on medical grounds, having played for West Ham United, Charlton Athletic and Bradford City.
From a Kent guy he has played for a range of non-league clubs including Dartford, Chelmsford, Eastleigh and Braintree Town and now he brings his experience to Herne Bay, and at the age of 28 he still has plenty of playing time left in him at non-league.
Speaking about the signing manager John Embery said: “Matt is a quality defender and will bring a wealth of experience to our young team we look forward to working with him”
