AFC Bournemouth have been given permission to talk to out-of-favour Charlton Athletic right-back Simon Francis.
Francis was a target for the Cherries in the summer but they failed to meet his personal terms.
There has been recent fresh investment in Bournemouth and as they are aware of Francis’ requirements, the deal should be quickly finalised. Initially, Francis will join on loan with a view to the Cherries making the deal permanent in January.
Lee Bradbury has previously said that he sees Francis as a central defender as well as a right-back.
It would be no surprise if Paul Benson and Gary Doherty made similar moves in the near future.
