Gillingham skipper Andy Frampton is of the belief that it will require hard work to see his side out of their recent dip in form.
The 4-3 loss at Accrington Stanley at the weekend has seen The Gills drop to tenth in League Two, just two points outside the play-offs, but crucially eleven points Crawley Town in third, the last automatic promotion place.
Five defeats in their last six outings has seen expectation drop at Priestfield, but Frampton insists the only way to get back to winning ways is to put some graft in:
“We’re beating ourselves at the moment and that’s got to stop. We’re going to make sure that does stop and the manager will help us do that.”
“Everyone will just have to knuckle down now and work hard.” he told the club’s official website.
“In my career personally I’ve found that if you work hard then you get your rewards and that’s what everyone will have to do.”
Saturday’s game against Hereford United could already be described as a must win for The Gills and Frampton knows that anything less than a win would be considered a failure:
“It should be an exciting game and hopefully we can get a result and put the last two perfromances behind us.”
Following the Hereford game, Gillingham have a trip to Burton Albion on Saturday 11th February with Southend United visiting Priestfield just two days later for the televised game on Sky.
