Goal.com are reporting that Morgan Fox could be a January transfer target for Mick McCarthy’s promotion chasing Ipswich Town.
The Tractor Boys have one of the most sought after players in the Championship in left-back, Tyrone Mings.
Mings was acquired from Chippenham Town for just £10,000 in 2012 but has flourished during his time at Portman Road.
London Premier League giants, Arsenal and Chelsea, are thought to be heading the queue to buy Mings in next month’s window.
Mings has become a regular in the Ipswich team following Aaron Cresswell’s summer switch to West Ham. Cresswell is also having a fine season and is knocking on the door for an England place.
Should Mings move on, Goal believe Charlton’s Morgan Fox is high on Ipswich’s list as a possible replacement.
Fox is currently enjoying an extended run in Charlton’s first team, following Rhoys Wiggins’ foot injury, sustained at Leeds in early November.
Fox is 21-years-old and has been capped by Wales at Under-21 level. He made his Addicks debut last season after a successful loan spell at Notts County.
Fox has been a regular in Bob Peeters’ match day squad this term and has made six starts and seven appearances from the substitutes bench.
Wiggins is now back in light training and third choice left-back, Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, is gaining valuable experience in a loan spell at Oxford.
January is set to be an interesting and busy month at The Valley.
