The Invicta Dynamos roster has now reached 13 after Head Coach Kevin Parrish today revealed that prolific forward Callum Fowler will return to the side.Callum Fowler7

Fowler will return for the 2013/14 campaign having already managed 86 goals and 117 assists in just 89 appearances for the club so far.

After spending a number of his junior years with Romford and Chelmsford, Callum Fowler’s potential was being realised as early as 2008/09 when the then 17 year old skater secured a roster spot as a hot prospect for the EPL’s Peterborough Phantoms.

50 outings in the league above resulted in 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points in his first year of senior hockey before the forward was then called up to represent the national side at under 18s level for a second time. Having already iced for Great Britain at all previous age groups on the international stage, Fowler captained the squad as they went on to secure gold in Division 2 at the World Championships in Estonia.

His strong performances saw Peterborough retain his services again in 2009/10 and another 37 league appearances saw a return of 10 goals and 12 assists from the now 18 year old. Despite his excellent form, a change of scenery then followed as the skater was tempted south and joined the Dynamos in the NIHL for 2010/11.

In his first season in Kent, Callum Fowler made 34 league appearances for the Dynamos and finished with the seventh highest points tally in the NIHL South Division 1 having managed 28 goals and 48 assists in 34 games.

Following a brief spell away from the side at the start of 2011/12, the forward then returned in November and went on to find the net a further 23 times in Dynamos colours whilst having a hand in 21 more. Last season he then committed to the club once again and featured 32 times across all competitions – managing 35 goals and 48 assists in the process.

Now the 21 year old is back for a fourth campaign hoping to add to the 203 points he already has at the Silver Blades Gillingham – a feat that could see him enter the team’s top ten list of all time scorers with the skater currently occupying eleventh spot in the list.

Speaking on the return of Callum Fowler, Head Coach Kevin Parrish described the forward as potentially the best in the division and revealed that the skater was raring to go having initially looked to take a pause in his hockey career.

Parrish said, “Originally it looked as though we would enter 2013/14 without Callum but he expressed his desire to return to the ice again earlier in the summer and he is already keen to get going. He has all the attributes to be the standout performer at this level and now the challenge is to stay focussed throughout the campaign and really show the rest of the league what he is capable of.”

“He is an excellent skater, has speed in abundance, the skill to perform the unexpected and there isn’t a side at this level of the game that wouldn’t want a player of his ability on their roster”.

Parrish then suggested a big year lay ahead for Fowler when he added, “I see 2013/14 as a potentially defining year for Callum who has really expressed a determination to get stuck in this term and help us fight for honours in Kent.”

“If he maintains this drive throughout the year then he will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with and I look forward to working with him again when the puck drops in September”.
