The Invicta Dynamos today bid a fond farewell to Callum Fowler as the club’s 2014/15 Player of the Year and Supporters’ Player of the Year prepares to move on to pastures new following five seasons at the Silver Blades Gillingham.
Callum Fowler arrived at the Dynamos as a promising teenager in the summer of 2010 and has firmly made his mark in the NIHL South Division 1 in the five seasons that have followed.
The prolific forward appeared 193 times in a Mos jersey and notched an incredible 463 points in the process by way of 181 goals and 287 assists. His impressive haul already places him third in the club’s list of all time points’ scorers with only Elliott Andrews (605 points) and Andy Smith (1039) able to surpass his tally.
During his time in a Mos jersey Fowler was also voted the NIHL South Division 1’s Player of the Year by his peers in 2014 whilst again making the Team of the Year the following season.
However, after five exceptional campaigns in Gillingham, the forward has now opted to test himself elsewhere and the Dynamos have thanked him for his efforts and wish him every success in the future.
Speaking on the departure of Callum Fowler, Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “At 23 years of age Callum has chosen to move on and after all he has given the Mos over the last five seasons we can’t begrudge him that.”
“He has been an exceptional performer, had the fans on the edge of their seats and played a major role in helping us lift the NIHL Southern Cup at the end of 2014/15.”
“Whilst it’s obviously sad to see him go I’m sure the supporters would like to join me in thanking him for all his work at the Mos since 2010 and wish him all the best moving forward.”
“He has matured into an excellent player during his time in Gillingham and earned his place amongst the best to have iced in our jersey”.
