Cup football returns to the Alex Yee Stadium when Forest Hill Park entertain Faversham Strike Force in the semi finals of the Southern Counties East Football League Division One Cup on Wednesday evening.

At present, Forest Hill are top of Division One with their visitors in third place, two points behind Canterbury City but with three games in hand.
On Saturday, the Dons won a tight match at home to Lewisham Borough thanks to a seventh minute goal by Ed Mbango in front of nearly three hundred spectators. Faversham didn’t have a match. Their last outing was also hard fought, winning one-nil at Meridian VP, courtesy of a first half injury time goal by Marshall Wratten.
To get to this stage in the Division One Cup, Forest Hill came in at the second round and goals by Ainsley Everett and Zac Ansah were enough to see off Tooting Bec in a home tie. They then ‘visited’ Lewisham Borough (they both play home games at the same ground in Ladywell) and won two nil. Mbango scored the first goal and Nathan Palmer the second.
Also having had a bye in the first round, Faversham visited Sheppey United and won a penalty shoot out after a one-one draw. Harrison Avery scored their goal. In the quarter finals they again required penalties to progress after a two all draw. In that round, their goals were scored by Cian McCormack and Kane Taylor.
Although promotion is the priority for both teams, they will both be keen to progress to the final and a tie against Clapton Community who have already qualified.
