Jody Brown, the Welling United manager, wasted no time in recruiting upon the opening of the transfer window ahead of the trip to Forest Green Rovers.
Assistant manager Glen Little has been added to the playing staff and Josh Carmichael has been signed on loan from AFC Bournemouth. Both should be available for the Sunday game in Gloucestershire.
Little played for Burnley for seven years before moving on to Reading. He has since had spells at Portsmouth, Sheffield United, Aldershot Town, Wrexham, Wealdstone and Grays Athletic.
Carmichael made his Cherries first team debut at the age of 16 and has played three more times since. He represented Gosport Borough on loan last season, and played for them at Wembley in the final of the F.A. Trophy.
Meanwhile, Wings have brought in former Gillingham striker Rowan Vine along with Joseph Zerafa and Reece Harris.
Barney Williams is not expected to be able to return for another two weeks, but apart from long term injured Loui Fazakerley, all the remaining members of the Wings squad are expected to be available for selection.
Steve Arnold, James Jennings, and Eddie Oshodi are definitely out for the Greens, and Danny Coles may not be quite ready for a return. However, David Pipe and Sam Wedgbury are expected to have recovered from illness.
Rovers’ manager Adrian Pennock, a former Welling boss, was hopeful of making a couple of signings early in the transfer window but may have a race against time to get them signed and registered in time for Welling’s visit.
Kurtis Guthrie scored in Forest Green’s recent 4-2 victory over Kidderminster Harriers and will be hopeful of starting against his last club.
When the two teams met earlier in the season they shared the points at Park View Road with James Norwood, the Rovers’ England C striker, scoring first half goals at each end.
