Footballing legends came to Kent this week to compete in the inaugural Marriott Mancini Trophy at Tudor Park’s golf course near Maidstone.
Over twenty famous faces took to the course in teams of four as they went head to head, with the likes of Glenn Hoddle, Ray Clemence, Paul Walsh and Clive Allen rubbing shoulders with local golfers.
With a shotgun start, golfers and their footballing legends were out on the course as one as they competed for the coveted prizes with former Southampton and England Under 21 defender Jason Dodd scooping the best footballer on the day with 39 points.
He was closely followed by Cardiff and Wales defender Andy Legg who came home with 37 points and former Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell was in third with 37 points.
The teams competition was just as tight with Gillwall winning the trophy with 91 points, Ruby’s Boys scooped the second prize for scoring 90 points, whilst the Kent Sports News side including Jewell and former Gillingham trialist Josh Stanford came third with 89 points.
Having seen so many famous faces take to the course, Michael Reagan-Hart, MD of Marriott Tudor Park was pleased with how the day had gone:
