Neil Cugley admits that it could be time for Folkestone Invicta to nominate a penalty-taker after Ade Yusuff missed again from the spot in the eventual 2-0 defeat at Lewes on Saturday.

“There’s not one of them really want to do it. Ade’s been taking them of course and had a good record until recently while Draycs wasn’t on the field at the time and is not mad about taking them either.

“I thought that someone who can smash the ball like Sam Hasler might have been an obvious candidate but he tells me that he’s never taken penalties for the club he’s played at.

“We’ve got a couple of minor injury problems in the squad for tomorrow’s game against Carshalton so we’ll worry about that first and then maybe start really working on nominating someone for the job.”

Josh Vincent (hamstring) is definitely out along with Nat Blanks who needs another week or so, while Phil Starkey is unavailable and Kieron McCann suspended after accumulating five bookings.

Apart from Starkey all those could be in the squad on Saturday when old rivals Leatherhead visit the Fullicks in the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Having played promoted South Division runners up Lewes last weekend, tomorrow Invicta face the side that pipped Frankie Chappell’s men for the title, Carshalton, now managed by former Merstham midfielder Peter Adeniyi who are currently just below Invicta in the table, but with a couple of games in hand.

Johan Ter Horst will almost certainly start tomorrow in place of the suspended McCann, with Alfie Paxman probably also in the starting eleven.

“It’s a good chance for Johan particularly” said the manager.

“If we can get him back to his best it changes the whole way we’re thinking about things as we continue to look at more changes in the squad.”

Kick-off at The Fullicks is 7.45pm as usual.
