Floodlit cricket returns to Canterbury on Friday as Kent look to reignite their CB40 campaign with a win over Warwickshire.

With the Sky TV cameras in attendance, Kent fans will be hoping the side get back to winning was in the one day format after a shock defeat against part-time side Unicorns a fortnight ago.

One player that seems set to return to the side is all-rounder Azhar Mahmood after returning to the county last week from his two month stint in the IPL and coach Jimmy Adams is glad to have him back and available for selection:

“It’s good to have him back. He’s a proven senior player, who’s been around for a long time and been performing for a long time as well. He’s in good health and it’s good to have that kind of quality around.”   “I’m sure he’s going to add tremendous value to everything that we’re doing here.”

Mahmood replaces Alex Blake in Kent’s 12 man squad for the game and is expected to at number three with Ben Harmison also named.

The defeat to the Unicorns sees Kent go into the Warwickshire game with one victory and one defeat in their first two CB40 games and Adams believes his side will need to be on top of their game to beat the Bears:

“It will only be our third limited overs game of the season, so we are still looking at how we approach these games and it will be the first time this season that we’ve faced First Division opposition, so that’ll be a good test for the lads.”   “It will be nice to get a positive result having come out of that Unicorns game with a defeat. There will be a lot to play for.”

Kent’s 12 man squad to play Warwickshire: Rob Key, Sam Billings, Azhar Mahmood, Darren Stevens, Brendan Nash, Sam Northeast, Geraint Jones, James Tredwell, Matt Coles, Mark Davies, Adam Ball, Ben Harmison.   The game against Warwickshire begins at 4:40pm on Friday with tickets available from www.kentcricket.co.uk
