Bromley’s run in the FA Cup came to an end as they froze against league opposition once again, only playing well once it was too late.
The game started with both sides looking to attack, but it was the home side who took the lead when David Ball scrambled home from close range after ponderous defending.
Before The Ravens could recover Joe Welch was judged to have committed a foul in the box and Joe Parkin smash in the penalty.
With Bromley still unable to get going The Cod were 3-0 up when Welch fouled in the box again receiving a yellow card before Parkin scored from the spot again.
The half ended with The Ravens not having registered a shot on target and the game over.
The second half showed a marked improvement from Mark Goldberg’s side. Pierre Jospeh-Dubois and Richard Pacquette went close and Bromley should have had a penalty when Pacquette though on goal was brought down by Youl Mawene, but Referee Joyce awarded a free kick on the edge of the box and only showed Fleetwood’s captain a yellow card.
Sub Ali Chaaban made an immediate impact going close twice and looking lively. Parkin had a goal ruled out for offside for The Cod before the last few minutes drifted and The Ravens’ were left ruing their poor start to the game against a decent well organised side.
