Gillingham Football Club have announced that Paul Fisher will be leaving the club with immediate effect.
A statement released by the club on Thursday afternoon reads:
The club can confirm that Paul Fisher will be leaving his role as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect.
Fisher arrived at the club last August as co-Chairman and helped facilitate the deal that saw Brad and Shannon Galinson arrive as the club’s owners in December of 2022.
He has since been working as COO, helping run the club on a day-to-day basis.
Fisher leaves the club to focus on his growing advisory and consultancy company, G.V.S.
He said: “I was brought in by Paul Scally last summer and I would like to think I now leave the club in a far more secure position than it was back then.
“I have really enjoyed my time back at Priestfield and working with Neil, his management staff, the players and the team behind the scenes. It has been a pleasure to work at the club I have supported for over 50 years.
“I remain a fan and I look forward to getting my season ticket for the exciting times ahead.”
Owner, Brad Galinson, added: “I’d like to thank Fish very much for his tireless efforts during his time at the club.
“We had numerous conversations with him prior to completing our takeover and his input was pivotal in getting the deal over the line before the New Year.
“His hard work will not be forgotten, he will always be welcome at Priestfield and we wish him well in his future endeavours.”
The Football Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks and gratitude to Paul for his tireless service over the past nine months and we wish him well for the future.
