The Pirtek assisted driver was looking to build on the form he enjoyed in Ireland at the last round. He hit the ground running and scored top three overall in the first and third qualifying sessions. It was only in the second qualifying session that due to brake failure he spun whilst taking his joker lap, he recovered well and still finished in fourth overall. At the intermediate stage he was sitting in a comfortable third place.
He lined up for his semi-final on the front row of the grid after a great start he entered the first section of loose nose to bumper with the leader. Scott took his Joker early and made the most of the clear track he gained from that crossing the finish line 6 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.
He was to line up for the final in the same grid position as his semi-final. He made another great start which saw him reach the first corner ahead of the pack. A position he wouldn’t yield until taking the flag and the overall event victory and his first Super1600. He was also awarded Driver of the Day.
The championship now heads back to the Welsh circuit of Pembrey for a double header for rounds 7 and 8 which will be held on 23rd and 24th of September. Racing will get underway at 09:00.
