Faversham Town are on the edges of the Ryman South Play Off chase. And manager Ray Turner knows that his side has something in their locker that few of their rivals have – experience! 
Turner explained to KSN just how important Saturday’s 3-0 win over Corinthian Casuals was to his side, “I’ve been looking at the fixtures that the top six have in the next weeks and it looks like a lot of them are actually playing each other. We can still get ninety four points, and if we can get near that number we’ll have a great shout of doing what we did last year – I just hope that we don’t leave it as late as we did last season. That said, waiting on the pitch for the result to come through from Hastings that day is undoubtedly one of the highlights of my time here. We have that experience now that we know that we can do it so I guess if you offer me a place in the Play Offs on the last day now, I’d take it. As we did it last year, the sides above us have to be wary that we’ll do it again – the other sides may even be expecting us to…”
Ahead early on Saturday through Dan Carrington’s low drive, Luke Harvey’s powerful header (his first goal of 2017) doubled the lead in the second half before substitute Jordan Casey well and truly put the icing on a terrific Faversham display with a stunning free kick in the closing stages.
“Before Christmas we weren’t playing well – on Boxing Day we played Sittingbourne here and despite being ahead at the break we looked a very nervy side and when they scored to get a point we slipped as low as we got last year – 15th. Then at Hythe on New Year’s Eve, we were as bad and were 0-1 down at half time. Something happened in the dressing room that day tough – I’m still not sure what, but we haven’t looked back since. We’ve now got to make sure that we keep going. I said to the boys beforehand that we needed six points from these two games – we’ll there’s three of them today; now onto Horsham here on Tuesday night!”
