Twelve days since they last took to the field, The Millers travel to the market town of Faversham on Saturday looking to bring back a further three points in their quest for league glory.
The Lilywhites – the only English Club to have a badge depicting the three lions as worn by the national football team – have flirted with promotion since joining the Isthmian League from the Kent League ten years ago, being beaten in three play-off campaigns at the beginning of the decade.
Former Millers manager James Collins assumed the reins at Salter Road in October 2019, restructuring the squad on his arrival and the Club lay in sixth place with an unbeaten record when last season was curtailed.
During his short tenure in Eltham, Collins enjoyed success in guiding The Millers to the Final of the Kent Senior Trophy, before winning the London Senior Cup in 2017.
After an opening day win at Phoenix Sports this season, The Lilywhites were soundly beaten at Chipstead in the FA Cup Preliminary Round before continuing their unbeaten start to the league season with a 2-1 win over Chichester City, courtesy of Joe Deny’s 90th minute winner.
Their last outing however resulted in a 3-1 defeat at Sittingbourne on 31st August.
Following their own FA Cup exit, The Millers enjoyed a six point haul over the Bank Holiday weekend courtesy of victories at Lancing, and against Corinthian.
The Club of course have happy memories of the Salter Road venue, having secured their place at Wembley in the 2019 FA Vase Final there, as well as winning the SCEFL Championship that same year against Canterbury City.
