Faversham Town are still on the road to Wembley with this hard earned victory against Tilbury although they made their supporters a bit nervy in the last 10 minutes.

The game was only seconds old when Jordan Peart on the left wing ran forward into the area but from 15 yards his shot went well wide. After this Faversham upped their game & in the 7^th minute a Eddie Allsopp corner to the back post found a stretching Matt Bourne & his effort hit the side netting.

Three minutes later a Lewis Chambers long throw ( this would be used a lot in the game ) into the 6 yard box found Manny Oluwasemo but his header went straight at Harry Girling.

Tilbury took the lead against the run of play when a Faversham free kick into the area was cleared & in the breakaway on the right hand side a low cross into the area found Peart & his side footed shot hit the net.

It’s amazing what goals do for confidence as Tilbury suddenly got a lot more possession & in the 33^rd minute Lewis Smith on the run saw his shot from 25 yards go wide.

Faversham finally got their goal when in the 1^st minute off added on time a free kick into the area was half cleared but straight to Jono Richardson who from 10 yards saw his shot go through a load of legs beat Girling, the half time whistle went & that must have changed both managers team talk.

The second half started with Faversham on the front foot & in the 47^th minute Allsopp passed to Chambers & his side footed effort from 25 yards flew just over the bar then seconds later they scored when a ball forward saw Oluwasemo outmuscle the defender & his shot was well saved by Girling’s foot but unfortunately for him it went straight to Dean Grant who from 16 yards shot into the empty net.

Tilbury were shaken by this but in the 50^th minute they could have equalised when Girling’s long ball saw Phillip Roberts get onto it & once in the area his shot from an angle was saved by Luke Watkins.

Faversham got their third goal in the 64^th minute when a ball along the left flank saw Oluwasemo outmuscle Ryan Boswell & then go into the area & shoot past Girling, everyone thought that was game over but Faversham seem to make their supporters sweat.

In the 71^st minute Allsopp 30 yards out saw Girling off his line & tried to chip him but it went wide. Eight minutes late Oluwasemo in the area passed to Harry Harding & his shot from 18 yards was cleared off the line. Faversham were in total control & they were trying to get their 4^th & in the 82^nd minute Allsopp’s free kick from 25 yards out flew just past the post.

Tilbury were now throwing everything at Faversham in the last 10 minutes & in the 84^th minute a corner into the area saw Valckx Fernandes header come back of the post, a minute later & they did score when Oliver Spooner running forward pushed the ball through for Substitute Joseph Wright & from 15 yards he slid the ball past Watkins.

Faversham had one more half chance in the 88^th minute when that man Oluwasemo ran from halfway & from 20 yards saw his curling effort go past the post.

Tilbury now until the final whistle pushed forward trying to get an equaliser & the Referee gave them half a chance as he added on 7 minutes but in the end the final whistle went & the right team won & look forward to Monday’s draw.
