Once more Welling United were beaten on the road as Farnborough claimed a Vanarama National League South win over them.

It could barely have been a better start for the Wings when they went ahead in the sixth minute. Sahid Kamara played a lovely pass down the right to Gene Kennedy and he squared it to Josh Redfearn who slammed it home.
After that, Welling’s defence was asked questions from a series of long throws by Ollie Robinson. One came out to former Wing Lexus Beeden whose header drew an easy save out of Rhys Lovett then Jonny Stuttle blasted well over after a headed clearance fell to him.
Lovett made another comfortable save, this time from Jack Bateson, before Welling twice got into good positions but over-played without getting a shot away. Dan Quick then tried his luck from distance but skewed his shot well wide.

Five minutes before half time, Farnborough levelled. A further Robinson long throw fell to Matty MacArthur and he hooked it home from close range.
As half time approached Robinson sent a header wide from a corner and the teams went in level at the break.
Early in the second half a shot by Alfie Pavey was headed out by Quick then Joe Haigh fired a free kick well over.
Garrett Kelly and Deon Moore combined well down the left for the Wings before Gene Kennedy knocked it back to Chiori Johnson. He lined it up but shot wide from sixteen yards. Harvey Walker then came on as a substitute and was brought down inches outside the penalty area but nothing came of the free kick.

Shortly afterwards, the hosts went ahead. Pavey let fly from twenty-five yards and Lovett beat it out as far as Stuttle. His initial shot was saved brilliantly by the Welling goalkeeper but he had no chance with the follow-up.
TJ Bramble and Scott Kashket were brought on and the former tried his luck with an ambitious effort after Kelly clipped it through to him, and Jack Turner saved comfortably.
Stuttle and Pavey then broke on a two versus one attack but Stuttle overhit the pass and it went out harmlessly before Kashket had a couple of late efforts in the hope of getting something out of the game. First, he dragged a free kick wide of the near post before Bramble did well to create another opportunity, but he shot well wide.

Other results went against the Wings and they now find themselves eight points adrift of safety with eight games to play.
