Charlton make their first long distance sortee into Devon on Tuesday evening, to face Exeter in the Carabao Cup.
The Addicks will return to the West Country on Saturday for the league fixture with Plymouth.
Clubs face a fine if they do not field their strongest team in the Carabao Cup, but despite this, Karl Robinson has said he will make eleven changes to Saturday’s starting line-up,
Robinson will expect his second string to be strong enough to get past the Grecians though.
Travel will be difficult – the club will not be running a coach to the game – so Charlton could have one of their lowest away followings of recent years.
Robinson may field a team that looks something like this:
Phillips; Dijksteel, Konsa, Sarr, Jackson; Crofts, Aribo, Charles-Cook, Reeves, Ahearne-Grant; Watt.
Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Barnes, Bauer, Lapslie, Clarke, Kennedy, Hackett-Fairchild.
The referee will be Tim Robinson from Sussex.
Those making the long journey to St James Park will be hoping the Addicks can do enough to get into the next round.
