On Wednesday evening, Erith Town host Fisher in a South East Counties Football League Premier Division fixture.
Out of the two teams, the Dockers have made the better start and are currently in fourth place, three points behind league leaders Glebe and Sheppey United. Since losing at home to Erith and Belvedere in mid August, they have won six and drawn one of their last seven games.
They enjoyed a comfortable three-nil victory over Hollands and Blairs on Saturday to follow up their two-nil win at Welling Town last week.
Visitors, Fisher’s form has been more mixed. They beat Punjab United one-nil on Saturday to bounce back from a similar score defeat at home to Chatham Town one week earlier.
Last season’s corresponding game was a tight affair that finished goal-less. In the first half Julio Da Mata was in the right place at the right time to clear Steadman Callender’s shot off the line before Dylan Pauw’s shot for Fisher from out wide clipped the post.
After the interval, Danny Gannon hit the bar for Erith before Harry Main did likewise at the other end. However, the major talking point was towards the end when both Josh Jackson and Ryan Mahal were sent to the sin-bin for ten minutes simultaneously but the visitors were unable to make their numerical advantage count
Spectators wishing to attend should note that the match kicks off at 19:30 rather than the more traditional time of fifteen minutes later.
